Heidi O'Loughlin

Multi award-winning young stand-up comedian, comedy writer and director, HEIDI O’LOUGHLIN was born and brought up in New Zealand (and proudly boasts of Tahitian, Chinese and Irish ancestors). Her critically acclaimed live performances on the international comedy circuit; stemming from the New Zealand International Comedy Festival and Melbourne International Comedy Festival to the infamous Edinburgh Festival Fringe, Dublin Fringe, Brighton Fringe and London’s Soho Theatre, which quickly catapulted Heidi’s talents to the attention of the British comedy fraternity where she was welcomed and invited to be the support act for the indefinable Josie Long. Heidi’s vibrant live act is highly personal as she riffs on the sexist culture in comedy, modern feminism, dreadful part-time jobs, crazy fans and the desperation of fast fame-seekers – all these topics fascinate Heidi and define her unique and appealing sense of humour.

Heidi made the smart move to stay in the UK (in 2014) and impressively went onto complete two degrees, a Film & TV Production BA (Hons) from London’s Metropolitan University, followed by an MA in Directing Fiction at Goldsmiths University, where she befriended screenwriter, MOIRA JAMES-MOORE (another Ki Agency talent) and recently harnessed their combined creative energies upon an exciting black comedy drama TV series called, OPEN FOR BUSINESS, about a dejected young woman, recently dumped and her newly divorced father, who try not to be too bleak around one another, whilst taking on the running of an old pub. Heidi continues with her comedy work, directing short films and writing TV comedy drama projects.
