Daniel Church grew up in Manchester, and still lives in the North of England with the love of his life. He loves nature, hills, woods, forest, lakes, rivers, the sea and dogs. ​He also writes horror fiction. He is the author of The Hollows, which was shortlisted for the British Fantasy Award, and The Ravening; his third novel, The Sound of the Dark, will be published in 2025, all from Angry Robot Books. He also writes as Simon Bestwick.
