Louise Carey has been writing since the age of 15, when she co-authored the graphic novel Confessions of a Blabbermouth with her father, Mike. She has since co-written two fantasy novels with her parents, The House of War and Witness and The City of Silk and Steel. Her debut trilogy of novels, Inscape, Outcast and Downfall has been published in two languages, and the French edition of Inscape has been shortlisted for the 2024 Prix Utopiales. Her other solo work includes the novella A Candle for Malka and the short story ‘The Still Small Voice’.
Louise read English at University College, Oxford and has a master’s in Psychology from Oxford Brookes. She currently divides her time between writing and running an escape room company, which she founded with her partner and brother. When she’s not penning stories or designing puzzles, she enjoys reading horror and DMing for a group of rowdy but well-intentioned adventurers.
